A 34-year-old Warner Robins man is facing charges after police say he ran from the scene of a Russell Parkway car accident. Sergeant Randy Evans with the Warner Robins police says Emiliano Longoria was driving on Wellborn Road around 9:30 Tuesday night when he tried to turn left onto Russell Parkway. Evans says Longoria hit a car driven by 26-year-old Patrice Gadsden head-on. He says Longoria ran from the accident on foot. Evans says officers found him a few minutes later near Wellborn Road and Wall Street. Gadsden and her passenger Oranda Owens both went to the hospital for injuries the got during the accident. Evans says their injuries didn’t appear to be life-threatening. Longoria also went to the hospital. He was treated and released into police custody. Evans says Longoria is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license, failure to report an accident with injuries and failing to yield right of way.This story by Erika Adolphus of WMAZ Channel 13 News.
“According to Georgia sate Law: 40-6-270.
(a) The driver of any vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to or the death of any person or in damage to a vehicle which is driven or attended by any person shall immediately stop such vehicle at the scene of the accident or shall stop as close thereto as possible and forthwith return to the scene of the accident and shall:…” It is against the law to leave the scene of an accident.
