A woman is in critical condition after a one-car rollover accident in Lake Wildwood Wednesday night. Sgt. Sean Defoe of the Bibb County sheriff’s office says it happened around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 300 block of Greentree Parkway. He said the driver, 23-year-old Nicholas Brown, an active-duty soldier at Fort Benning in Columbus, lost control of his vehicle, struck a tree and then a raised manhole. Defoe said a passenger, 19-year-old Makita Thatcher, was ejected from the vehicle. She was standing after the accident but later lost consciousness. Thatcher’s husband, 21-year-old Joshua Goodman, and Brown were treated for minor injuries. He said investigators aren’t sure why Brown lost control of the vehicle.
