Crawfordville Man Arrested For DUI Hit And Run

WCTV

The following information was provided by the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office: Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested a 43-year-old Crawfordville man in connection with a DUI and hit and run Monday, March 29 at 10:47 p.m., according to Sheriff David Harvey. Michael Timothy Lilliman was charged with DUI and hit and run-leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage after being spotted on U.S. Highway 98 near the Wildwood Country Club. A short time earlier a traffic accident was reported at Arran Road and U.S. Highway 319. Deputy Ryan Muse responded to the victim, Juliette Rose Rumschlag of Crawfordville. Her 2002 Ford Ranger suffered approximately $2,000 worth of damage to the rear of the vehicle. A light cover from the suspect vehicle was recovered from the bumper of the damaged truck and taken into evidence. Meanwhile, Sgt. Ronald Mitchell, Lt. C.L. Morrison and Deputy Jerry Morgan were passed by the suspect vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Camry, as they traveled on U.S. Highway 98. A BOLO alert was issued and law enforcement officials stopped the suspect just west of the golf course and arrested him without incident. Damage to the Toyota was listed as “totaled.” The suspect vehicle was traveling west and law enforcement officers noticed a large amount of damage to the front end of the Camry. In addition, one of the headlights was missing and a large amount of smoke was coming from the hood area. Due to unlevel ground conditions at the traffic stop, Lilliman was transported to the Wakulla County Jail where Field Sobriety Exercises were conducted. His poor performance during the exercises resulted in the DUI charge. Lilliman’s bond was set at $5,000.
