MORROW, Ga. — Morrow Police believe they found the vehicle Monday evening in a weekend hit-and-run accident that left a 7-year-old boy seriously injured. CBS Atlanta’s Michelle Marsh reports the vehicle was located in Forest Park. Morrow Police Capt. James Callaway said witnesses at the scene reported seeing a Lexus LX 450 crash into the back of a Mercury Sable that was stopped at a traffic light on Jonesboro road at Southlake Plaza Drive. The witness gave officers a license plate number that came back registered to Gustavo Franquez, 38, a Cobb County business owner. Detectives located Franquez Monday afternoon. He told them he had recently sold the SUV to his brother, Alvelaro Franquez, 34.

Police then began an all-out search for the brother. Two people in the Sable were injured. Its driver, Latarsha Jagne, 37, told CBS Atlanta she is recovering from a neck injury. Her 7-year-old son Damian Dennis suffered fractures to his face. He is recovering at Children’s Hospital at Egleston.

If you have any information on the driver, call Morrow Police at 770-961-4000 or 770-961-4006.
