DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – Douglas County authorities say a 62-year-old woman was killed Monday when a deer that had been hit by another car came crashing through her car windshield. The Georgia State Patrol says a vehicle hit the deer on Monday afternoon along Highway 5. Troopers say during the collision, the carcass was thrown over the median and through the windshield of a car driven by 62-year-old Virginia Solomon, who was driving in the opposite direction. Solomon, a Douglas County resident, was killed on impact, according to the Douglas County coroner. Investigators say the other driver involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. Authorities tell FOX 5 they have noted a regular problem with deer crossings along Highway 5 in the area where the accident happened.
