Toddler Hit and Killed on Chevis Road

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A three year-old boy is dead, after police say he was run over by a pickup truck in southern Chatham County Wednesday afternoon. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police were called to the 300 block of Chevis Road around 5:00 p.m. Investigators said 3 year-old Joshua Landen Newman had been allowed to ride on a trailer that was being pulled by a pickup truck down a driveway. Somehow police said the boy got down from the trailer and was killed when the truck backed up over him.
