The 911 tapes have been released as the investigation continues to find out what caused a Gadsden County school bus to crash on Monday afternoon.

Investigators are still trying to put the pieces together. What went wrong Monday afternoon when a Gadsden County School bus careened off the road, leaving one dead and several injured? The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office released six 911 calls made shortly after the crash. The calls, made by eyewitnesses, are giving authorities insight into what happened that afternoon.
911 Operator: “911″
Caller: “Yes, this here is a call to come to Lincoln Drive in Chattahoochee out going toward the dump, a school bus done wrecked and all the school children are on the bus.”
911 Operator: “911″
Caller: “Hey this is back here down here on Lincoln Drive. It’s been a wreck down there with some school children.”
911 Operator: “Yes sir, I have everybody coming.”
Some who made calls even stopped to help those who were injured.
Caller: “Um she said her back and her legs and stuff hurting and then we got somebody mouth bleeding, her neck hurting, and a couple of ‘em mouth bleeding and what not.”
911 Operator: “Alright, well we’ve got them on the way and I’ll let them know. Thank you, ok?’
Investigators may have to rely more heavily on the 911 calls, since we’re told the surveillance tape that was supposed to record what happened on the bus is blank. Officials with Gadsden County Schools told us the cassettes on their school buses are rotated out every 20 days, but the equipment is old and sometimes doesn’t work properly, which may explain why FHP says the tape from the crash is blank.
